A bit of a change of subject for podcast #88 and I'm really excited about it. Nothing is better than exploring and learning about what else is out there all around the world. I have always been intrigued by the AT (Appalachian Trail) and have done my share of seasonal and winter camping as well as miles of canoe camping. One of the perfect interviews for the subject of hiking and exploring is Danielle Breakell aka Red Panda. Danielle was super generous with her time while visiting her family in Connecticut. I will likely do this kind of diversion again so keep an ear out for it and let me know what you think. I won't be starting another podcast platform for it yet because, well, it is expensive and takes a lot of time. I truly believe listeners of The BMX In Our Blood will enjoy the occasional change up and appreciate the diversity of the podcast. Learning about the training and confidence it takes to hike the AT made Danielle the perfect interview for this 1st of a few hiker interviews over time in between BMX podcasts. I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity, thank you Danielle.
Enjoy the listen and be sure to look up Red Panda's blog through www.trailjournals.com if you want to read her account as she successfully managed and completed the 2,189 mile AT hike.
See you Old Fools at the Old Fools Jam at Ray's indoor bike park in Cleveland the 2nd weekend in January and/or the Welcome Jam at The Wheel Mill in Pittsburgh the 3rd weekend in January. Lots of good ones interviews coming up! Have a happy and safe New Year!
