Hey, what's going on? This is the body punch podcast and my name is Naz. Let's talk about UFC 264. So, we have the trilogy fight that many people have anticipated. It's happened under somewhat odd ways or terms, if you will. Not many people expected this to happen at the beginning because if we look back at what this fight was originally, it was a fight that Conor McGregor took against us and Dustin Poirier and moreover, Dustin Poirier, taking this fight against Conor McGregor. Now, what I mean by that is Conor McGregor if we look at his past couple fights, the one where he made his return after the brutal somewhat the brutal fight that he had against Khabib Nurmagomedov made off, he came back he had the fight against Donald Cerrone, where he hit him with those vicious shoulder strikes. Now after that fight, he fought against us in Korea. For the second time he defeated him a little while a long time ago, at the beginning of Conor McGregor's career, some people have named that the actual point that Conor McGregor took off in his career. That was the point where it was a big test for him Dustin Poirier was doing some amazing things at the time, at 145. Surprisingly enough, I say 145, both of them fighting at 155. Now, obviously, but both of them draining themselves to make that 145 feather weight limit. And now both of them have one when a piece this is the third fight in this trilogy, obviously, but this is at the beginning. Right after this fight after the second fight. It wasn't really a thought that crossed people's mind that Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier would fight each other again, now does employ a said to the media. And this is something that we all know that he wanted to take this money fight instead of fighting for the belt. That's where Michael Chandler and all verified and many people thought and myself included that the rightful owner to a spot to fight for that belt should be Dustin Poirier after. But he went on to take this fight against Conor McGregor. Now in the original fight, Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier in the UFC, put out the fight again and I had a chance to take a look at it a couple times, review specific spots in the fight. You could see at the beginning of the fight, and this happens in in most of Conor McGregor's fights, is he really stood his ground, he was able to fire back against us employee, but then does employ a, as we all saw, was putting money in the bank, if you will, by hitting Conor McGregor with those low calf kicks. Conor McGregor later on saying that this is this is something that he hasn't seen before and all these different types of not excuses but the reasons why he might have been more effective. affected by these low calf kick shots than other fighters. He said that he's been out of the game for a little while. In the Donald Cerrone fight. It was so short, it was only a one rounder. And really, he didn't face much adversity as adversity in that fight. When it comes to that fight, like I said, it was a very short fight and, and Conor McGregor took him out in the first round, so he didn't see any of the new stylings and, and cowboy Cerrone being somewhat of an old school fighter. He's been fighting for a long time. He doesn't come with these new bag of tricks. Now disappointed he's been in this game for a long time, but he keeps on learning and, and, and developing these skills, especially at that team down in Florida, American Top Team, that massive camp, they're always learning. And disappoint has got a great team around him, of coaches of teammates. And I bet you they're they're all feeding each other with knowledge on specific things, they got so many people that are specialists in so many different...
