Following Jesus is first. That means everything else is second.
Peter doesn’t appear fully to get it. On the shore of Galilee, he sees the Apostle John and says, "Lord, what about him?"
We are so like that! Instead of attending to the life God has given us and the demands of followership, we look at others and wonder, “What about them?” which takes our eyes off Jesus!
Sometimes we covet their jobs or health or wealth or relationships. Sometimes we are critical of how they choose to follow Jesus.
Jesus replied, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!” John 21:22
“Follow me,”says Jesus! Eyes off of others. Eyes on Jesus.
