Game of the Show: Jenny LeClue: Detectivú
Published by Joe Mografi, MSRP $25, Buy on the Nintendo Switch store.
Jenny LeClue is a charming, extremely well made indie puzzle, an adventure detective game that places the player in the shoes of the titular Jenny, a young girl, and a Sherlock-like detective... that is actually a character in a young-adult novel series. During the game, we experience both the author's narrative writing the book and Jenny herself, with many 4th wall breaking comments from the character.
The art is charming, the music and voice acting are amazing, the puzzles are challenging enough without being overbearing.
The is one major problem: the game isn't finished. After about 10 hours of game-time (which is formidable), you get a to-be-continued screen. Nothing in the story is solved, and you're left to wait for the next installment. After reading online, I found out that this was communicated to the game's Kickstart backers. Still, not a word about it was mentioned in the game's store page.
