One of Omer's top games for 2019!

Omer's first encounter with Image & Form games started with SteamWorld Dig 2 which was great, SW Heist which was even better and he basically can’t get enough of that nonsensical universe: It doesn’t take itself too seriously and characters are super cute.

While most of the SteamWorld universe games so far took place in a Steampunk-esque world, SteamWorld Quest takes the same concepts and wraps it in as a children’s knight's tale using the same robots but in a medieval setting.

Gameplay-wise it’s a deck builder and Slay the Spire, progression based rogue-lite(?) mixed together. You get your cards you can either craft at a vendor or earn from encounters to build your deck. You control 3 robots per battle, each one has its own deck that shuffles into a big one. You start each turn drawing from the main deck to basically you don’t know which robot is getting which card.

Every turn you play 3 cards, you can the synergy for a single robot (and you get a bonus move for that) or you can have synergy across characters (also getting a bonus for that). Progression is story-based and is SUPER FUN.
