Rising through the ranks of the TAC Cup competition, Aaron Lord joined Geelong in 1994, playing 32 games for the Cats before venturing to Hawthorn.


It was at the Hawks that he enjoyed his most prolific form up-forward booting 136 goals in 93 games.


After five years with Hawthorn, Aaron returned to Kardinia Park where he was welcomed with open arms for a further two seasons producing 25 games and 30 goals.


After football, Aaron lived in France, gaining international diplomatic experience as the Australian Sports Attaché at the Australian Embassy in Paris.


It was during this role that he began to flourish as a writer, penning stories on a range of international sports.


When he returned to Australia Aaron worked as the Senior Adviser for two Victorian Sports Ministers, in addition to working for Cricket Victoria.


He has long been involved with ABC Grandstand as an expert commentator.
