007: What is Distributed Work? - a podcast by Hannah Genton

Today, we talk about a topic very close to our hearts. In fact, it’s at the core of the CGL business model – distributed work.

CGL started as a distributed company from day one. It was the type of working environment we wanted to set up for ourselves. Later, that blossomed into a space we wanted to create for other people as well.

We recognize the terminology "virtual law firm" has a lot of negative connotations. When you call yourself a virtual business, people have preconceived notions and misconceptions around what actually that means. The change in terminology alone from a virtual firm to a distributed company has been a powerful shift that bypasses those misconceptions. Ultimately, it has allowed us to positively change the nature of ‘work’.

In this episode, you will hear:

  • What is distributed work?
  • The structure of the distributed work model
  • The differences between remote work and distributed work
  • The benefits of a distributed company
  • Common misconceptions around distributed work
