In this episode, I continue working my way through the ancient Egyptian New Kingdom, covering Pharaohs Smenkhkare, Neferneferuaten, and one of the most famous Kings, and that is Tut. Which is ironic considering that not long after his death, the Egyptians consciously tried to forget him. They reigned between 1335 and 1323 BC. Depending on the Exodus date you choose to believe, this was either just after the 40 years of wandering, or just before the Exodus. And, the Egyptian Empire controlled much of Canaan at this time, so either way, the Pharaoh influenced the lives of the Israelites. Next week, I’ll continue the history of the New Kingdom. After listening, let me know what you think.
