In this episode, I continue working my way through the ancient Egyptian New Kingdom, the remaining Pharaohs of the 19th Dynasty: Merneptah, Seti II, Amenmesse, Siptah, and Queen Twosret. So, the period of 1213 to 1189 BC. These rulers, while none reigned for any great period, did have a lasting impression of the history of Egypt. I also dive into a foreign leader who would rise to great power in Egypt, only to have a rapid fall leading to his execution. Next week, I’ll press the accelerator as I begin the history of the 20th Dynasty. After listening, let me know what you think.
