Throughout this very special episode I chat with Tom. Tom is one of many who endlessly works hard at saving lives and ending stigma at Pieta. Pieta is a free charity that helps people living with sucidal ideation and self harm. Opening their doors to those who have also lost a loved one to suicide. With 15 centers across Ireland and 24/7 support. Their service is completely free of charge and no doctor/ hospital referrals are needed.⁣

Chatting to Tom reminded me of how incredible people are including Tom himself. As he was full of so much insight / kindness / patience and passion for the work he does. ⁣I opened up to Tom throughout this episode in regards to my own personal experience as somebody who turned to Pieta during a time in my life when all hope was gone . Pieta will always hold a piece of my heart as they truly are an irreplaceable beam of light. ⁣

They are warm and understanding. Since opening their doors in 2006. They have helped save over 50,000 people from suicide and self harm. They welcome you with hope and bright light leaving no room for stigma or judgement. To them you are a person worthy of recovery. ⁣

Each year thousand of people even pets come together to take part in Darkness Into Light across Ireland & the world. I personally look forward to this event each year as it is a reminder that we are all going to be ok because we have one another. Due to current circumstances the event has been postponed until Autumn of this year. But on May 9th Pieta and thousands more will wake up to watch the sunrise together.
