Your daily COVID-19 LST Report:

— Researchers found nine SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing humanized llama antibodies that successfully blocked viral S protein and angiotensin-converting-enzyme-2 (ACE2) interaction in vitro. They postulate that combinations of these antibodies in creating a single multi-specific antibody could increase this effect, which should be further studied in hopes of contributing to treatment and diagnosis of infection.

— There is growing concern for the safety of female frontline humanitarian workers, with accounts from the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Phillipines of workers being expelled from their apartments for fear that they are carrying COVID-19, reports of harassment in India, instances of personal protective equipment being prioritized for males workers, statistics from Italy and Spain showing twice as many COVID-19 infections in female health care workers.  Standardized organization-specific policies are essential for health and safety of female humanitarian workers on the front line.

— A 72 year old man presented to the ER complaining of chest tightness and dyspnea with ST-elevations on EKG and ultimately died 45 minutes after arrival. He was later found to be SARS-CoV-2 positive leading the authors to recommend the use of PPE even in seemingly non-COVID-19 cases and encourage consideration of cardiac manifestations of the disease.
