“Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God's love encompasses us completely. ... He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken.”
― Dieter F. Uchtdorf

For my Easter message this year (accessible through this web page and on Facebook), I looked at five things the word says about us because of what Jesus did by his life, death, and resurrection.  In this blog, I share the first 3 of 5 things the word says about you and me. If you want to see part one, checks this past Sundays Blog.  These truths are an essential defense against the human struggle with feelings of insufficiency and unworthiness, and these points will give you the confidence to live your best life and know it is enough.

1. I Am Loved!

The word teaches that God loved us so much that God gave his son that we could have abundant life. John describes God’s love as real love. Not that we loved God, but that God loved us and sent his son as a sacrifice for our sins. Paul in Corinthians describes love as an array of positive attributes from love being patient to love always hoping for the best. That is the love that God has for you and me, and no one can take that love away or that truth away. God loves you… the good, bad and ugly you. You are loved.

2. I Am at Peace with God!

Paul declares in Romans 5 that I am justified, completely forgiven and made righteous and because of this, I am at peace with God. So many people use God as a threat to move others to do right. Many proclaim that God’s love will one day run out, or tire and as a result, we best do better or risk losing God’s love. The preponderance of scripture declares that God will keep loving and loving us throughout our lifetimes. The result of this truth is that I am no longer afraid God is waiting and watching for me to mess up, so he can destroy me. God is continually renewing his love mercy and strength towards me every day, and God is, in fact, my biggest fan. I can rest knowing I have been forgiven and can approach God for help without fear of rejection.

3. I Am Complete in Christ!

In the book of Colossians Paul encourages the church to resist the calls of religious people to add to their belief that Christ paid the price for our sins on the cross, expressing the immensity of God’s love and providing a peace that secures my relationship with God. Human reasoning will always encourage you to try harder to be better to please those in authority over our lives. The truth of the word is the work we should do is believe in the finished work of Christ, understanding that faith is what pleases God. When we know we are complete in Christ, with no need to impress God with religious practices, we can just be, live and trust the spirit of God to bring guidance to our lives.

Meditate on these 3 things this week and settle in your hearts your personal faith in God and ask Him to continue to reveal to you the fullness of what was done through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ.  Check back on Thursday for An Easter Blog – Part 3 that will look at the last 2 of 5 things the word says about you and me.
