“Balanced thinking will take you beyond confusion.”
― Daphne Michaels

My heart is committed to persuading people that God is not an enemy to man, but everything about God joys in his creation. Throughout the century’s mankind has sought to make sense of life and understand the many questions surrounding life. Why is life the way it is, what is life all about, how are we supposed to navigate the many challenges of life? These and many other questions stand front and center in the minds all who care to stop and think on a deeper level about life.

Philosophers, poets, sages, prophets, and writers have all attempted to identify these critical matters in life and bring some peace to their readers by answering the many questions surrounding life. Some conclude we ought only to live for self. Others find we ought to be afraid of God and authority in general, demanding we never question but only submit your will and life to someone or something else. Religion, including Christianity, which should bring peace to people’s lives, is many times twisted by those who want to control the lives of others and only brings more desperation and feelings of hopelessness.

On my view, those who seek an authentic life, and those who walk less traveled roads, find a balance of walking with an acknowledgment of God and a respect for others. But, they are also those who live empowered in their spirits to make the decisions that they conclude to be right for their lives and families. Many would argue you can’t trust yourself, but that begs the question of why I should trust someone else then. Why should I trust others more than what I feel in my spirit? The writers trying to answer questions have questions themselves. Those who are encouraging us how to navigate life, deal with failure and find paths of righteousness are themselves walking the same path as we. The writer of Ecclesiastes addresses this balanced approach…

So don’t be too good or too wise! Why destroy yourself? On the other hand, don’t be too wicked either. Don’t be a fool! Why die before your time? Ecclesiastes 7:16-17 (NLT)

Determine to find balance in your approach to life. Don’t let anyone terrorize you with fear when God came to relieve your fear. Don’t live in shame, as Christ took all our shame. Don’t let others control or dominate your path, as the Holy Spirit gives direction to all, including you!
