1 Peter 1:3–5 (NKJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

β€œThe death of a dream can in fact serve as the vehicle that endows it with new form, with reinvigorated substance, a fresh flow of ideas, and splendidly revitalized color. In short, the power of a certain kind of dream is such that death need not indicate finality at all but rather signify a metaphysical and metaphorical leap forward.”

We postpone the finality of heartbreak by clinging to hope. Though this might be acceptable during early or transitional stages of grief, ultimately it is no way to live. We need both hands free to embrace life and accept love, and that's impossible if one hand has a death grip on the past.

For today and tomorrow we will use the same devotion verse as yesterday, because I want us to fully realize at least three aspects of hope that the resurrection of Christ brings to our lives.

The first was hope of a relationship with God Himself. Next is the hope pertaining to the things that die in our lives. I am speaking about areas of our health, of peace, of love, of joy, area's pertaining to relationships with others and many other aspects of day to day living. We have hope that these areas can live again and be revived even though we destroy them ourselves, or are destroyed by others, or are merely destroyed through the process of everyday living.

Today think on this aspect of hope, hope that your relationships can be renewed, your health can be regained, your dreams revived. Just this week I had a lady share that she is beginning to write music again after many years, and doing so because of her relationship with God. What is dead in your life that needs to be resurrected? Think on these things and then grab hold of the HOPE that Christ gives because of His coming.
