Psalm 84:1–5 (NLT) How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of Heaven’s Armies. 2 I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the Lord. With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God. 3 Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow builds her nest and raises her young at a place near your altar, O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, my King and my God! 4 What joy for those who can live in your house, always singing your praises. Interlude 5 What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

"Joy is the infallible sign of the Presence of God."

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Psalm 16:11 (NLT) You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

There is a direct connection between joy and the presence of the Lord. A part of the reason that Christ's coming was so vital for mankind was that with His coming there was a reconnection of man to God. In the garden of Eden, there was a separation between God and man because of sin, that can only be restored in Christ. Once connected to God's presence we are reunited with our life, because man became a living being when God breathed into man's nostrils the breath of life. We need to be in God's presence and thus when we recognize the path is made available again through Christ and when we make efforts to follow that path, joy is a natural consequence of that connection.

Today recognize the path to God is Christ and expect and make room for joy that only can be realized through your personal relationship with God.
