Romans 5:6–11 (NLT) When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. 7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. 11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

The world takes us to a silver screen on which flickering images of passion and romance play, and as we watch, the world says, “This is love.” God takes us to the foot of a tree on which a naked and bloodied man hangs and says, “This is love.”

Truly the Love of Christ that we are able to experience doesn't just end at the birth and during the life of  Jesus. But the story of the cross and the death of Christ on Calvary brings such revelation of the Love of Christ and provides inspiration for you and I to be able to live. The writer of Hebrews writes this....

Hebrews 12:2–4 (The Message)  Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. 3 When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! 4 In this all-out match against sin, others have suffered far worse than you, to say nothing of what Jesus went through—all that bloodshed!

What love for mankind can be seen in the death of Christ on the cross. Don't be ashamed of His death, but rather glory in it. In His death we see the ultimate sacrifice of love for one person to another... and that is to be willing to die for another.

Today ask the Father to flood your soul with the revelation of Jesus' love that comes from him being willing to die for you. Experience that love each time you hear the story of His birth, death, burial and resurrection.
