John 3:16–21 (NLT) “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. 18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. 19 And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. 20 All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. 21 But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”

“It's not about finding ways to avoid God's judgment and feeling like a failure if you don't do everything perfectly. It's about fully experiencing God's love and letting it perfect you. It's not about being somebody you are not. It's about becoming who you really are.”

The Love of God - For most God's love is such a mystery because we only view love on mans terms and from mans perspective. We love with such restrictions and such limitations and with so many strings attached that we miss the purity and power of God's love that will develop our lives.  This development is not merely into something we are not, or something God would have us be that is somehow beyond our ability to be, no, this development is maturing us to a place where we are free to be ourselves. This is the aspect of God's love and grace that many miss. God designed our lives with an ideal in mind that is who we truly are. This ideal is holy, accepted, blameless, confident, courageous, peaceful and all the other virtuous adjectives you could come up with. All that is left for us to do, is not be afraid to run to Him, belief in Him and allow Him to begin a work in us that we cannot accomplish on our own.

“Are we not perhaps all afraid in some way? If we let Christ enter fully into our lives, if we open ourselves totally to him, are we not afraid that He might take something away from us? Are we not perhaps afraid to give up something significant, something unique, something that makes life so beautiful? Do we not then risk ending up diminished and deprived of our freedom? . . . No! If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes life free, beautiful and great. No! Only in this friendship are the doors of life opened wide. Only in this friendship is the great potential of human existence truly revealed. Only in this friendship do we experience beauty and liberation. And so, today, with great strength and great conviction, on the basis of long personal experience of life, I say to you, dear young people: Do not be afraid of Christ! He takes nothing away, and he gives you everything. When we give ourselves to him, we receive a hundredfold in return. Yes, open, open wide the doors to Christ – and you will find true life. Amen.”

For this week ask God to allow you to move past you fear and come to Him, motivated by the great Love you see in the coming of  Christ. Allow the light of His Love to illuminate the areas of your lives where you are living so under the potential and ideal of who you are. Don't be afraid, walk to His light that is made possible by His Love.

Just Be
