On this episode of the podcast we sit and chat with Karen Burke! Karen is the co-founder and Artistic Director of the Juno award-winning Toronto Mass Choir, a Gospel choir that has been touring and recording since 1988. Karen has written and arranged many of the songs on their 10 albums and has led the choir on tours in several countries including Poland, Romania, Italy and most recently, the Dominican Republic. In addition to her work with the Toronto mass Choir, Karen is also a Professor in the music department at York University and developed the first post-secondary gospel music curriculum in Canada.  We had a great time speaking with her about her start in music and her reluctant path to becoming a professor. Enjoy!
