Welcome to the Dux Podcast, in this episode we chat with Olympic Long Jumper, Australian Record Holder Brooke Stratton.


Started her Athletics life at Nunawading Little Athletics at the age of 5, winner her first gold medal at the u9 State Championships in the Long Jump. 


Brooke competed at the World Youth Championships in 2009 at 15years old, followed by two World Juniors Championships 2010 and 2012.  2016 was a fantastic year for Brooke, competing at the Rio Olympic Games placing 7th in the Final. In the Perth Track Classic breaking Bronwyn Thompsons Australian Record in the Long Jump with a  jump of 7.05m, which still stands as her PB to date. She also finished 5th at the World Indoor Championships in Oregon.Fast forward to 2018 Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast, Brooke won Silver medal in the Long Jump.


We speak to Brooke about her athletics journey, having her dad as a coach for almost her entire career, her training programs, Olympic disappointment in 2020 due to covid and looking forward to 2021, and coaching tips for Long Jumpers.
