Welcome to Episode 11 of the podcast!

This week’s episode was recorded on the Labour Day Weekend at the BBQ On The Bow competition in Calgary. My daughter Jillian and I spent some time at the event on Saturday afternoon and spoke to a few of the teams.

Running since 1993, BBQ On The Bow is Canada’s longest running BBQ competition and is a KCBS Sanctioned competition. Over the years, it has grown to feature over 35 teams and also features music and entertainment for all ages and displays from local businesses.

BBQ On The Bow is a part of the Alberta Cup which is a series of 4 competitions in Alberta. Besides BBQ On The Bow, the competitions are Smokin’ Q at Lynnwood Ranch in Aldersyde, Porka Palooza in Edmonton and the Battle River BBQ Showdown in Camrose.

Chris from Frozen Toque BBQ from Edmonton, AB, finished 17th overall
Jared Ruf, Smokin’ Good Taste from Togo, SK, finished 37th overall
Wade from Big LebowsQ from Calgary, AB,finished 34th overall
Kenny Wallace, Fireweed BBQ, finished 25th overall
The Big Pig Rig, Wade, Tyler & Ryan from Water Valley & Dog Pound, AB, finished 42nd overall
Ryan Durand, Dos Smokin Bros from Saskatchewan, finished 16th overall
