On this episode with spoke with business influencer Ryan Whitmer, who’s the founder of the gym Fit One Four in New Albany. In this interview, we discussed Ryan’s career going from a personal trainer at Urban Active to creating one of the biggest brand name gyms in Columbus. How his entrepreneurial spirit was inspired by watching his father’s hard work ethic and being exposed to new ideas in college. How Ryan got into working out after his father, a powerlifter himself built a full gym in their entire basement where Ryan started lifting. Years later Ryan saw a gap in the personal training space, which was the place in between a personal trainer’s first job at a big box gym and the point where that personal trainer ends up becoming a gym owner or working for a private family on salary. Seeing that there was no platform to help a personal trainer bridge that gap in their career, Ryan opened Fit One Four to help trainers do just that. Where Ryan provides an amazing mentorship to trainers to help them grow their book of business, an amazing 24/7 gym for personal trainers to bring their clients, and just an overall great place for members of the community to work out at.
