I mean it seems like it would be so obvious, but you never know how important the building blocks of consistent character over many, many, years, how important that is until you face your first false accusation. That character helps you to stand. That consistency and that reputation helps you to absorb those kinds of accusations. In the ends, those things are the things that cause people to look back and that is exactly what Paul is going to point to in this text.
