On this episode of Football Date Night, Melissa and a rejuvenated Dave break down the NFL divisional round and look forward to next week’s Championship games. Melissa began (1:00) by explaining what a brutal week when it was dealing with Dave as he mourned the Bears loss. Dave explained (3:30) how he recovered by enjoying the Eagles’ loss (and Alshon Jeffrey’s failure), which Melissa objected to. Melissa then pondered (7:30) which quarterbacks would have consoled Jeffrey like Nick Foles did. Next, the duo broke down the Saints comeback against the Rams (10:00), triggered by their 4th down and defensive resurgence.

After that, the duo moved on to the Patriots domination over the Chargers (11:00) and how the first-round bye gives teams an advantage (12:30). Melissa then posed why people hate the Patriots so much and questioned whether it’s personal (15:40). Dave admitted to being a Patriots sports hater but not a true Patriots hater (18:00), while Melissa took issue with their media relations (19:00). Melissa then moved one to to the Rams-Chargers game and broke down Das Prescott’s limitations (23:00).

The duo then looked ahead to next week, as Dave and Melissa both dreamed of a Chiefs victory (24:45). For the other game, Dave predicted the Saints would take down Rams and Melissa agreed the Saints would be a more compelling story (31:30).
