Irureta's Icons: the glorious zenith of Deportivo La Coruña - a podcast by The Football Pink

Although it sometimes feels like there's more chance of the rocks melting with the sun than the La Liga champions coming from anywhere other than Madrid or Barcelona, this hasn't always been the case. Host Roddy Cairns (@RoddyGCairns) is joined by Liam Togher (@liamtogher88) and James Bolam (@JamesBolam) to look back to the turn of the millenium, when a team from distant Galicia defied the odds to take Spain's biggest prize.  That team was Deportiva La Coruña, and to their fans there will always be one name sung louder than any other - that of legendary manager Javier Irureta.
