Wimbledon: from non-league to the Crazy Gang - a podcast by The Football Pink
from 2021-01-28T10:00
For football fans of a certain age, any mention of the name Wimbledon inevitably leads their thoughts to the club's infamous "Crazy Gang". Led by Dave Bassett, a group of players that included Vinnie Jones, Dennis Wise and John Fashanu shot this club from south-west London to fame with their antics on and off the pitch. The nickname was meant as both an insult and a compliment, but seldom can an unofficial moniker have loomed quite so large in the history of a football club. Host Roddy Cairns (@RoddyGCairns) is joined by Graham Hollingsworth (@GramH75) and Rodney McCain (@RodneyMcCain) to remember the story of the Crazy Gang.
