He and his European peers didn't see the puck for the first five years, the drills were heavily focussed on skating skills - which means Gerard should be an asset when Storm play the big ice teams.
Plus he reveals to Stephen Packer that former Manchester Storm defender Paul Phillips was the one who recommended Gerard consider the English Elite League team top of his list as a first year pro.
