What’s wrong with splitting the difference? Is it fair or not? Pamela Wright and Sabrina Shaw give us an insight about it. Negotiating can be tricky in real estate. Splitting the difference would be a good idea, because people are thinking that both parties are having a fair result. It is another way that you are offering less. But splitting the difference doesn’t work for everybody because it doesn’t make sense. If the offer is solid in the beginning there’s no need to split the difference. That’s why choosing a real estate professional who is a good negotiator is very important. At the end of the day, what really matters is getting in the closing table. One good example of negotiating is offering a large amount of earnest money deposit. It makes the seller think that the buyer is really interested in the property. High earnest money deposit makes a good offer.
