In this March episode of Global Lab, we take a look at two major events celebrated on 8 March: International Women’s Day and the 99th anniversary of the February Revolution in Russia. We have been inspired by the events of the February Revolution in Russia - when women took to the streets in protest for - and have, with the help of our interviewees, explored how women have reclaimed the urban streets and created, or are creating, change.
Oliver Marsh speaks to Dr Philippa Hetherington (https://twitter.com/philippahether), Lecturer in Modern Eurasian History at UCL about the role women played in the February Revolution. Duncan Hay speaks to Professor Jane Rendell (http://www.janerendell.co.uk/) about feminism in city writing, and Hannah Sender interviews Dr Larissa Romualdo Suzuki (http://www0.cs.ucl.ac.uk/staff/l.romualdo/) about women designing smart cities.

The show was put together by Hannah Sender from UCL Institute for Global Prosperity (https://twitter.com/glo_pro?lang=en-gb), with help from Oliver Marsh (https://twitter.com/SidewaysScience) and Duncan Hay.
