Globetrottin' ADs - S3E3 - Dealing With Unexpected Events - a podcast by Globetrottin ADs
from 2021-09-12T05:00
For the first time this season Nick and Matt are joined by other Athletic Directors as they dive into the first of six parts of the new NIAAA course LTC910
Dealing with unexpected events is something that an Athletic Director needs to be prepared for as much as possible. Whether it is political unrest, natural disasters or a disease outbreak some has already seen it and managed through the event and that is exactly what this section will help new or experienced Athletic Directors do.
Joining the podcast are three of the four authors of this section. Dave Goetz, the Executive Head of Activities at AIS Johannesburg, Scott Fitzgerald, the Activities & Athletics Director of Cairo American College and Juan Santamaria the Athletics & Student Activities Director of Escuela Internacional Sampedrana in Honduras.
The authors talk about the makeup of their course highlighting the main sections but also a bit about their writing process. Some personal examples are shared of how they have delt with some unexpected situations as well as highlighting some of the case studies in the course. Of course there are some key takeaways in this episode without giving away the entire course.
The group also talk about if and how they will be able to attend this years National Athletic Directors Conference in Denver Colorado and before they go each guest talk about some of the amazing things you shouldn't miss if you get a chance to visit Egypt, South Africa and Hondouras.
