This week’s edition of the podcast was recorded at BTME 2020, where Curtis Tyrrell CGCS MG spoke to Tony Hanson and Addison Barden about water usage on golf courses and the challenges turf managers will face in future about resource availability.

 


Curtis Tyrrell CGCS MG was course superintendent for the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah. He’s now director of agronomy at Desert Highlands in Arizona and is the host of the Course Reports podcast

 


Tony Hanson is managing director of Environmental Solutions International and has been involved in leisure facility management and commercial property for over 30 years. Tony Spent many years as Property and Environmental manager at The Facilities Management Group, working with clients on commercial property, environmental reviews and project implementation for individual properties and portfolios. 

 

Addison Barden is an agronomist in the USGA Green Section’s Southeast Region based in the Peachtree City, Ga., office. Most recently, he was golf course superintendent of the West Course at Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y. He has additional experience at North Jersey Country Club in Wayne, N.J., and at golf courses in the Southeast. During graduate school, he was a graduate teaching assistant at Auburn University while he obtained his master’s degree in entomology. His Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy and soils, with an emphasis in turfgrass management, also is from Auburn University.






ICL Continue to Learn Scholarship



BIGGA in conjunction with ICL have developed a scholarship opportunity for BIGGA Members.







The ICL Continue to Learn Scholarship offers five BIGGA members the opportunity to attend the Continue to Learn at BTME education programme. The scholarship, worth approximately £500, comprises three nights hotel accommodation and 15 hours of education.
