Leah Chase is a world renowned chef, author and television personality. She is known as the Queen of Creole Cuisine. Her family restaurant, Dooky Chase, was known as a gathering place during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and has been in operation for 76 years. Mrs. Chase is also well known for her extensive African-American art collection and philanthropic work in the community. In 2010 Mrs. Chase was inducted into the James Beard Foundation’s Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America. At Dooky Chase, Leah has fed her creole cuisine to the likes of Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Ray Charles, Hank Aaron, Jay Z, Beyoncé, & Solange to name a few.
