Praying the Psalms - a podcast by The Hive

In this episode of The Hive Cast, we bring you the first class of the new course, "Praying the Psalms", which starts Sunday, September 24th, 2023 for members of our Membership Community.

The Book of Psalms contains 150 ancient prayers, songs, laments, and poems that can help us learn about the relationship between God and humans--the key word being “relationship.” Throughout the Bible, we see the story of God who wants to know, walk with, and love us. We humans can forget, disbelieve, or even reject that reality. But to truly be in relationship with anyone (let alone God) we need to to bring our whole selves honestly to the union so we can grow together no matter the circumstances. The Psalms were written as a guide for praying and staying in relationship with this God of hope and love. By giving pride of place to our emotions, this wisdom shepherds us through valleys and mountains of our life. This class will be one part study and one part prayer as we learn how to pray with the Psalms.
