As Steve and Chris keep the home fires burning for John’s return they talk about the helmet brawl that enlivened an otherwise putrid game between the Browns and Steelers. Then they check in on the brawl between the NFL and Colin Kaepernick, who at the time of the recording were nit picking about every detail of his workout. Spoiker Alert: It only got weirder after they taped the show. The big takeaway, why did the NFL even do this? But the real teeth gnashing was saved for the 2019 Its Just Business punching bag, The NCAA. Under assault from all sides they showed their continued pettiness by suspending Ohio State football player Chase Young for accepting a small loan and Memphis basketball player James Wiseman for accepting help from Penny Hardaway to move his family. These might be violations, but why does the NCAA seem to relish punishing the small fish while protecting the larges institutions in the system? College sports needs a governing body, but the NCAA proves weekly they probably aren’t it. Can you say hubris?
