Film critic (New York Times, The Atlantic) and baseball movie expert Noah Gittell takes time out from researching his upcoming book on the history of baseball movies to talk about a collection of great, curious, and underwhelming baseball films and TV shows.

From Moneyball to monkeyball (the awful '90s Matt LeBlanc starring film, Ed), Little Big League, The Sandlot, The Scout, and the deeper meaning behind some of the earliest examples of the form, we're going deep on the films that have defined the game on-screen. This before talking about Noah's recent NYT article on SNY's tremendous Mets broadcasts, and why it's OK to reject baseball tribalism especially when the on-field product sucks.

“Oh, well he’s a die-hard… well stop trying to kill me with your really awful decision-making.”
