PART 2

We had 30 minutes with Danny Trejo. We had some technical difficulties and didn't get started until I had only 12 minutes left with him, and I had a million questions for Danny!

This is what a great guy Danny is...He offered to come back after his last interview today and let me do the show that I wanted to do with him. Both interviews are unique and original, listen to both and meet this fascinating person. This is that "second chance" interview he granted me. Thank you Danny, Michael & Gloria, you guys are true professionals with loads of integrity! I am humbled.

Today’s very special guest in Danny Trejo, Actor, Humanitarian and Restaurateur

Danny Trejo is an actor with an incredible and memorable career in the entertainment industry, starring in dozens of films including Desperado, Heat, From Dusk Till Dawn, Con Air, Spy Kids, Grindhouse, and Machete.

Danny Trejo began building his restaurant empire in L.A. in 2016, opening Trejo’s Tacos, followed by Trejo’s Cantina and Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts. He now has seven locations and a food truck.

Danny has just published a new cookbook

“Trejo's Tacos: Recipes and Stories from L.A.”

Hollywood’s baddest good guy shares 75 recipes that make Trejo’s Tacos the Los Angeles go-to for award-winning tacos, donuts, and more.

Long before he was a Hollywood star, Danny Trejo used to joke with his mom that they should open a restaurant.

A few arrests, a couple boxing championships, and more than 300 movies later, Hollywood’s favorite bad guy did just that with Trejo’s Tacos.

His unexpected journey from ex-con to actor to Narcotics Anonymous/Alcoholics Anonymous counselor to successful restaurateur is a true rags-to-riches story.

Danny not only shares 75 recipes for cantina favorites like succulent carnitas, vegan cauliflower tacos, and pillowy-sweet cinnamon-sugar lowrider donuts, but offers insights into his life and pays respect to his hometown, his roots, and all of the colorful characters who helped him along the way, creating a delicious tribute to L.A. and the city’s vibrant Latino culture.
