Here:  Wellington, wearing a top-hat, walks dejectedly (right to left) with bent back. Brougham, dressed as a German broom-girl as in BM Satires No. 14769, &c., takes the Duke's right hand, puts her left hand on his shoulder, and looks into his face with a soothing but appraising smile, saying, 'Never Mind don't fret'.  May 1832?  Lithograph

Iran doesn't mean, "No."   Behnam Ben Taleblu, @FDD.

Behnam Ben Taleblu, @FDD; in re: Iran stood the US at the dance to reopen the JCPOA.  “US should lift all sanctions first.”    When Iran says no, it doesn't mean no.   In fact, Teheran is at the dance; just saying, Give me more. Hoping Biden buckles first. Think of the varsity jock.  “Nuclear ueber alles.”

If you give away all leverage, you have none left to address the broader threats, some longer and stronger. Iran intends to supervise security for West Asia. Goal is to erode US will, pack up and leave. Iran wants to force the Biden team into one defeat after another, pave the way for Ian to lock in its [hegemony].   Houthis are part of the negotiation: Biden’s stance is seen as weakness.
