After her second chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer Maimah Karmo appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, where she was encouraged to document her journey from a 15 year old Liberian refugee to breast cancer survivor and advocate. Karmo is the founder of the Tigerlily Foundation, an organization that educates and empowers young women affected by breast cancer. Her work has been featured in Redbook Magazine and on Good Morning America.
