Shannon is the Founder & CEO of the Voice + Visibility Women’s Summit (VVWS) in Sarasota, FL. The VVWS

convenes diverse, cross-sector female leaders with a mission to empower women, expand networks &

opportunities, and elevate the voices of diverse women. Shannon is the SoGal Foundation Sarasota Chapter

Lead. She is a social entrepreneur with three decades of experience in public and private sector collaboration,

fundraising and diversity and inclusion work. Shannon is the Co-Founder of Visible Men Academy (VMA), a

public charter school for low-income boys in Bradenton, FL. At VMA, Shannon created the Whole Child and

Family Program, Women SHINE Gender Equity Curriculum and lead organizational advancement. Shannon’s

early career was in social work in academic medicine. Shannon received her BA from Colgate University, and

earned a Master’s in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. Shannon is a Board Member of

the Women’s Resource Center. She lives with her husband Neil, two teenage sons and a growing tribe of pets

in sunny Sarasota.
