• Elected officials in South Jersey are remembering Sheila Oliver as a role model and a political “force to be reckoned with.” New Jersey’s second-ever lieutenant governor died Tuesday at the age of 71.


• New Jersey authorities say there's no apparent connection between Gilgo Beach murder suspect Rex Heuermann and the unsolved killings of four sex workers in Egg Harbor  Township in 2006 — despite similarities.


• National Night Out started right here in our area years ago. The annual event helps police build a stronger bond with their community. There were some special guests this year in North Philadelphia.


• The Center City District is preparing for a milestone Restaurant Week this September.
