  • Montgomery County residents forced to leave their homes when a freight train derailed in Whitemarsh Township early Monday morning have been allowed to return. Emergency officials remain confident there are no immediate threats to residents or the environment.

  • Investigators are still trying to piece together what caused a car crash that killed a 32-year-old woman and injured her 12-year-old son. Kelly Ann Carter Herman died Saturday night along Bustleton Avenue near Rennard Street in the city’s Somerton section after, police say, a 21-year-old man disregarded a red light and struck another car, which then hit two others.

  • A large sinkhole on Route 202 between Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard in Montgomery County has made an encore appearance a week after it was filled in and repaired.
