  • Philadelphia has selected former City Councilmember Cherelle Parker as its 100th mayor. Parker will be the first Black woman to hold the office after coming out on top of a crowded Democratic primary in May and beating Republican David Oh in the general election.

  • All Philadelphia City Council seats were on the ballot on Election Day, and the Working Families Party has come out on top.

  • Democrat Dan McCaffery has won an open seat on Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court, preserving its 5-2 Democratic majority. 

  • New Jersey Democrats kept control of their legislative majorities on Tuesday, holding the line against Republican challenges and flipping seats in pivotal Senate races and Assembly contests.
