"We want everything to be easy, but work is part of what we were created to do!"
Life is not always easy. Perfection is not always possible. And all-or-nothing thinking can paralyze us from doing anything at all.In this episode, I share my personal struggle with all-or-nothing thinking. Like many of you, God has called me to many things. As multi-dimensional, multi-passionate women there are times when our responsibilities can feel insurmountable.

Whether you hold back and do nothing because you're afraid to fail, or you tend to jump in and try to do everything perfectly on your own, God wants to dismantel our all-or-nothing thinking and free us to move graciously between all our responsibilities. We may not be able to do everything, but we can do something!

Life is hard and requires work.Work is not part of the curse. God put Adam “in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it”  before the Fall.
Though sin has made work harder (Genesis 3:17), work is holy and is part of what we were created to do.God wants to help us in the hard places, but we have to let go of the all-or-nothing thinking.
The process is divine - it helps us depend on the Lord."The difference between a good housekeeper and bad is one hour"- Annette Gustafson (Joanna's mom)
Satan wants to keep us paralyzed. Our Flesh Woman wants to do it perfect. God wants to help us make forward progress.God is more of a both/and God than an either/or God. He wants to help us move gracefully between all our responsibilites.
There is power in baby steps! When you're overwhelmed, don't try to do everything, just do something.

ALL-OR-NOTHING Thinking Tells Us:I should wait until I feel like it
I can’t do anything until I have time to do everythingWhen I do something, it needs to be perfect
If it’s too hard, I should just quitThere is no inbetween – it’s all or nothing

God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. ~ 2 Corinthians 9:8Additional Resources
