Fifteen yr old, unarmed Darius Smith was gunned down by an off-duty officer in the Los Angeles area last Friday. Initially the police reported that no crime was committed, but after the teen died on Saturday, the officer involved claimed Smith attempted to rob him.


Last weekend, a video went viral, showing Springfield, Illinois police officers beating children at an elementary school playground. The video can be viewed on the "In The Streets" Facebook page.


Timothy Loehmann, who gunned down Tamir Rice in November 2014, has been fired. Apparently he could kill a child without punishment, but there are consequences for lying on his job application.


The Trump Administration is in the process of financially gutting various civil and human rights departments in the federal government. They plan to minimize several federal agencies' civil rights efforts.


Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos insists that it is not the federal government's job to protect students from discrimination.
