The District of Columbia has reported 501 cases of missing juveniles, most of whom are black or Latinx, since the beginning of 2017. While some have been found, most have not. Some are feared to be sold into sex slavery as victims of human trafficking. Some are feared to be victims of kidnapping. Some are feared to be victims of homicide. There are troubling questions about the reluctance of the police to issue Amber Alerts for many of these minors. And there are major concerns about the numbers of officers who have been prosecuted for sex trafficking. Could there be a link? The FBI had no problem tracking down Tom Brady's football jersey in Mexico, but is unable to find these youngsters? Why?


Davey Mark Jimmerson, age 22, a star athlete with asthma, was left to die in his jail cell during as asthma attack.


Richard Haste, the former police officer who shot and killed unarmed 18 yr old Ramarley Graham in 2012 has resigned after being convicted on departmental charges of failing to follow police department protocols. Haste was given the option to quit rather than be fired.


On Monday, James Harris Jackson was charged with "murder as an act of terrorism", a hate crime, for killing 66 yr old Timothy Caughman, a black man who was widely disparaged by the media..


This week, the White House appointed anti-LGBTQ activist Roger Severino to lead the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Civil Rights, an office whose work Severino has actively opposed. Makes sense, right? Appoint an unapologetic bigot to head up a civil rights advocacy division.


A federal court has ruled in favor of the estate of an Army veteran, Elliot Williams, who died on the floor of his jail cell in Tulsa, OK after breaking his neck, lying naked paralyzed without help or medical care for 51 hours. The county must pay his family $10 million.
