Tristan Simone (IG: @imtristansimone)  is a rapper and singer-songwriter who captures the styles of his multicultural heritage in his artistry, which emerges from years of training in jazz, RnB and Latin music. His distinguished sound captures the musical essences of the many places he has called Home, including Mexico City, Madrid, London, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Boston, Maine and Costa Rica. Simone has performed for Justin Timberlake, Tia Ray, Missy Elliott, T-Pain, Patáx, and industry legend Sylvia Rhone. He is known to captivate in venues ranging from prestigious museums to stadiums with his infectious energy, rhythmical decor, and memorable wit.

Tristan recently released his first album, The Wounded Coyote (available on all major streaming platforms), which deftly and powerfully explores  hope, heartbreak, trauma, and community. More than just an album The Wounded Coyote has involved painters, novelists, graphic designers, producers, videographers, actors, and photographers. In a time where the world feels disconnected and with restrictions still halting our progress, Tristan wanted to propose creative ways of resuming our work and build his vision of an ideal future together with his outstanding team.

In this inspiring episode, we discuss:

  • the transcendent inspiration behind his epic debut album, The Wounded Coyote,

  • heartbreak and the lessons we can learn from it,

  • the importance of being honest,

  • retreat as a way of moving forward,

  • and not waiting for anyone’s permission to be your most authentic self.

Fun fact: the theme song you hear at the beginning of every episode is none other than Tristan Simone’s own wonderful track, Higher Than This!
