Welcome to the Malliard Report! Today we are so excited to have Denise Pridemore with us. Denise is an expert on paranormal investigations and the history of haunted places. She has investigated many locations, but is best known for her extensive research into the Sallie House and McPike Mansion. Denise, tell us a bit about what led you to become so interested in these two places. Thanks, Jim. It all started when I was a student at the University of Kansas and I heard about the Sallie House. I was fascinated by the reports of paranormal activity and decided to explore the history of the house. As I looked deeper into the house's history, I realized that the Sallie House was just one of a number of properties in the area with a similar reputation. That's when I started to research the other properties, including the McPike Mansion. Now, let's talk about the Sallie House. Can you tell us a bit about the house's history and the paranormal activity that has been reported there? Sure! The Sallie House was built in Atchison, Kansas in 1895. It was originally owned by a doctor and his wife, who had a daughter named Sallie. Sadly, Sallie died in the house at the age of 5, and since then, the house has been haunted by her spirit. People have reported hearing her voice and seeing her ghost around the house. And what about the McPike Mansion? Can you tell us a bit about that? Absolutely! The McPike Mansion is located in Alton, Illinois and was built in 1869 by a wealthy industrialist named John McPike. It was once a luxurious home but has since fallen into disrepair. It's also rumored to be haunted by the ghosts of John McPike and his family. People have reported hearing strange noises, seeing apparitions, and feeling cold spots in the house. Denise, thank you so much for joining us today and sharing your knowledge about these two haunted locations. We really appreciate it! My pleasure! It was great to be here.
