Like clockwork every year, the season shifts from the dog days to the cooler evenings. The boys of summer finally get called inside and the girls of pumpkin spice run wild. (Okay, fine, I’ll admit that I do actually enjoy pumpkin flavored things.) Along with that, just as a particular television channel will begin running the movie Hocus Pocus on endless repeat, the sudden uptick in interest of the paranormal will take its yearly hold. Halloween brings out the best of spooks and scares, and people are looking to find the best kind. This often leads into the world of the paranormal. While researching the strange and unusual should never be discouraged, it is something that certainly is not to be done by just anyone on a whim.

While looking for a good scare to help jump the Halloween spirit, it something that can have serious consequences that most do not take into consideration. Often these “playful” attempts are never focused, or done in areas where potential lower vibration entities may exist. This game is seen as an open invitation by the potential spirit and could possibly result in an unwanted attachment. Paranormal research isn’t necessarily a “professionals” only type field, but needs to be approached with a heavy amount of respect and caution. This week’s guest on The Malliard Report is such an expert in this field. Marlene Pardo has been hunting the paranormal long before the ghost wave we know today was even a vague concept. “Marlene is a native Miamian and the founder of Miami Ghost Chronicles, and she has been a paranormal investigator since the 1990s. She has worked mainly with research groups in Florida, but she has also assisted other organizations and private clients across the country. She also is the narrator of the podcast show Nightshade Diary, Supernatural StoryTime and the blog author of Stranger Than Fiction. She appeared in S1E1 of Paranormal Survivor which presently airs on Destination America and Netflix, and Season 1 of Haunted Hospitals which airs on the Trvl channel. Marlene is a freelance writer who holds a Master of Science degree in Human Behavior&Health. She is a certified master hypnotist and considers herself a subconscious behaviorist and had a private practice for many years. At one time she worked as an investigator for a state-level agency (that shall remain unnamed).”
