Welcome to the MWSA Podcast for Monday, June 21st.

We begin with a conversation surrounding National Indigenous People’s Day – which is held every June 21st. We hear the gripping, personal story of Josie Nepinak – Residential School Survivor and Executive Director of the Awo Taan Healing Lodge Native Women’s Shelter.

Over the past 15 months, we’ve heard the term ‘Covid Longhaulers’ – those people that carry symptoms for months after contracting the coronavirus – but how much do you know about the health impact & symptoms that can ‘hang around’? We get some clarification from Dr. Alexandra Rendley from the Toronto Rehab Institute.

Next we continue our conversation on Lyme Disease – in particular the chances of getting Lyme Disease in our Province – and the resources available here in Alberta. Dr. Ted Jablonski – our “on-call” family physician – weights in on this surprisingly controversial issue.

And finally – it’s another edition of “Motivation Monday”. This time out, we look at the connection between cycling and creating motivation to live your best life. We speak with Richelle Love – Calgary-based Cycling & Triathlon Coach – Business Owner and Motivator.
