This is the MugPunters.com.au podcast for Thursday 7th September 2017 and in our breaking news headlines this week:

- If it was a shock to hear Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire getting sacked, Mug Punters can reveal in breaking news the latest NRL coach to get cut. Under incredible circumstances, Craig Bellamy from the Melbourne Storm has been given the chop, with inside sources claiming he visited Just Cuts in St Kilda and asked for a short back and sides just in time for the finals

- The Socceroos can’t quite yet book their ticket to the World Cup despite defeating football world powerhouses Thailand, as Saudi Arabia stamped their passport ahead of the Aussies with an unlikely 1-0 victory over Japan. When asked about their playoff opponents Syria, coach Ange Postecoglou said that their away tie was set to be a blast but suggested the entire campaign could explode if they don’t tread carefully on enemy soil. No kidding Ange.

- And Twice Irish champion Jockey Davy Russell has been suspended for four days for punching a horse prior to the start of a race. Unfortunately, details of the incident are unclear, so we weren’t sure whether or not it was appropriate to make a related joke… about Conor McGregor… or Chris Brown… or Sarah Jessica Parker…
