This is the MugPunters.com.au podcast for Thursday 12th October 2017 and in our breaking news headlines this week:

- In a stunning turn of events, the USA will NOT be making an appearance at the 2018 soccer world cup after an embarrassing defeat to Trinidad and Tobago this week. Meanwhile, Americans remain as confident as ever that they will still be able to produce world champions in the NFL

- Richmond president Peggy O'Neal has confirmed the club is indeed investigating some photos that depict a nude woman holding a sherrin footy and wearing one of the Tigers premiership medals. I can also confirm that the team at Mug Punters have been investigating the photos closely and although the medal seems legitimate, we are still unsure as to whether it’s a regulation Sherrin in the picture and thus will probably need the careful investigations to continue

- And Conner McGregor is back from his well earned vacation after making his boxing debut against one of the greatest of all time. Now it seems the Irishman has set his sights on the WWE, claiming that the current crop of stars are “dweebs” and that he wants to get in the ring with them and have a “real knock”. I’m not sure how many of Mayweather’s golden gloves McGregor ate, but someone should probably tell him that the WWE isn’t actually real wrestling. I know, I know… hard to believe
